The RWA champion student artwork

The RWA champion student artwork

Congratulations to Lucille, Alice.G, Emily and Grace from Year 11, and Octavia, Alice.N, Lucy and Catherine from Year 13 whose artwork is currently being exhibited on the RWA website.

The gallery created this ‘Alternative end of year show’ to support and champion young artists whose GCSE and A Level artwork might not otherwise be seen due to the sudden closure of schools. The selected entries are from students in Year 11 and Year 13 across Bristol and the South West.

As Head of Art Mrs Sims said, “We are delighted that the RWA is showcasing the exceptional artwork of students across Bristol. I believe the submissions selected from Redmaids’ High show the diversity of work and exceptional talent we have here.”

The painting shown here is by Grace in Year 11. Describing it she says, “I decided to name this piece ‘Superfluous’ as although plastic can be portrayed as a thing of beauty in art, I wanted to highlight that plastic is not needed in everyday life.”
