Congratulations to our Geography Department which has been awarded the Centre of Excellence with the Secondary Geography Quality Mark for the teaching and learning of Geography.
This prestigious award comes from the Geographical Association (GA), a body which actively promotes excellence in geography by supporting primary and secondary teachers, academics, geography undergraduates, colleges, universities, libraries, societies, museums and businesses across 61 countries.
The Centre of Excellence status was awarded to the team at Redmaids’ High in recognition of the way they have exceeded expectations across a number of criteria. These include using innovative teaching approaches, creating extensive extra-curricular opportunities for students and developing extensive links with external organisations such as Bristol Zoological Gardens, Bristol and Avon Rivers, Bristol University and the local branch of the GA.
Commenting on their success, Mrs Tobias said, “I would like to credit the Geography Department, led by Ms Neil, with helping students across the school to engage in a range of environmental activities and for actively supporting the school’s international outlook.”
