New Head Girls Announced | Redmaids' High School
We are pleased to confirm that Saskia (pictured left) is our new Head Girl, and Khushi is the new Deputy Head Girl.
Saskia is currently studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma, taking Maths, Chemistry and Geography at Higher Level, with plans to study Maths at university. In addition, Saskia plays the clarinet in various music ensembles and is a keen netball player.
In an email sent to all senior school students today, Saskia says, “During my time at home I've been trying to stick to a fairly regular routine, as well as trying new things. I've just finished Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca which has a brilliant twist in the plot and a cliff-hanging ending – I can definitely recommend it. I have also being doing a few exercise sessions in the living room with Joe Wicks and enjoyed walking in the sunshine with my sister. As a family, we have taken to completing jigsaw puzzles with an increasing number of pieces – which is another brilliant way to pass the time.”
Khushi joined Redmaids' High in Year 7 having moved from Burundi in Africa. She is doing A Levels in Maths, Biology and Business Studies and plans to study optometry in the future. While in quarantine, Khushi has set herself three new challenges. "The first one is to run a 5K, so I have been using the Couch to 5K App to motivate myself," she explains.
"I have also been trying to learn a Bollywood dance from a You Tube tutorial, and have started learning Spanish again using the Duolingo App."
Speaking of their appointment, Mrs Tobias said, "While we are not able to get together in person at present, both girls have said they would love to hear what students have been up to during the quarantine period, so please feel free to email them.
"I would also like to wish both Saskia and Khushi every success in these important leadership roles."
