Hitting the high notes | Redmaids' High School
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Jane Prescott as our Interim Head at the start of this new academic year.
Mrs Prescott will be with us for the Autumn Term, providing experienced leadership and oversight ahead of the arrival of the school’s permanent Head, Ms Rebecca Davies, in January 2027.
Mrs Prescott has served as a Headteacher within the GDST for more than 13 years before becoming a consultant and Interim Headteacher for the Trust. A Geography teacher and passionate advocate for girls’ education, she is currently a Reporting Inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate and a governance reviewer for AGBIS. We look forward to the experience and expertise she will bring to the school during our period of transition.
At the same time, we would like to say a very fond farewell to Mr Paul Dwyer, who is leaving the school after six successful years as Head.
Since 2020, Mr Dwyer has ensured that the school has continued to grow and thrive. Reflecting on his time he said, “It has been an extraordinary privilege to have led the oldest girls’ school in the country since 2020, and I couldn’t be prouder of all that we have achieved together as a community during this time, achieving a balance of pastoral strength and co-curricular opportunity with outstanding public examination results.”
The whole school is grateful to Mr Dwyer for his leadership, commitment and contribution to our community, and wish him every happiness and success for the future.
Here’s to a new chapter for Redmaids’ High School, with so much to look forward to!
