Creative arts workshop | Redmaids' High School
By all accounts our Year 5 librarians are doing a sterling job.
Having successfully applied for these leadership positions, the team of five girls meet every Wednesday lunchtime to organise book returns, and stamp, label, cover and display new books.
As our Literacy Co-ordinator Mrs Browning explains, “We have a real sense of community in our Junior School Library.
“In addition to our fantastic pupil Librarians, we have parent volunteers who decorate, and generally help organise the books.
"They are supported by Sam Taylor from Max Minerva’s Bookshop, who pays us regular visits and helps with author talks and events.
“We also benefit from the expertise of Miss Bratt – the Senior School Librarian – who has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the best fiction and non-fiction books for children and young adults.
“All, of course, designed to inspire our girls and help them develop a life-long love of reading.”
