We are delighted to join the Girls' Day School Trust
We are thrilled to announce that we have now officially joined the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) family of schools. This exciting development marks the beginning of a new chapter in the proud histories of both our organisations, each of us deeply committed to delivering exceptional education designed specifically for girls.
As a thriving and forward-thinking independent school for girls aged seven to 18, we are one of the pre-eminent girls' schools in the country. This year, we celebrate 390 years of educating girls. Founded over 152 years ago, the GDST is a group of independent schools and academies recognised as global leaders in girls' education.
Since the announcement in September that we would join the GDST, our students and staff have participated in various GDST events. These include the Junior School Maths Conference at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford, where students collaborated with peers from across the GDST.
Students will now have access to a full programme of dynamic learning initiatives, including subject-led activities such as the GDST Space Tech programme, Trust-wide sports rallies, language festivals, and engineering challenges. We will also benefit from thought-provoking events and leadership programmes like LEAD, run in partnership with the London School of Economics and Political Science, and CareerStart, which provides information on a range of careers. Every Trust-wide activity is designed to equip each girl with the confidence, skills and agency to become a future leader and changemaker in whatever she chooses to do.
Cheryl Giovannoni, Chief Executive of the GDST, said: “Our mission as global leaders in girls’ education has clearly resonated with the newest member of the GDST family. As the first standalone school to join the GDST in 17 years, we could not be more pleased to welcome such a fine school to the GDST. Our shared vision and ethos is key to an exciting future for staff and girls across all of the GDST.”
