To support this Jonathan Hancock established the UK Junior Memory Championship.   His aim was to create a fun competition that promoted memory skills in children, as they can have a significant impact on their learning.   “You don’t simply learn to learn by learning,” he explains. “You have to have access to a range of strategies.”  At the Redmaids’ High Junior School, we have been taking part in this challenge for over ten years, and we are delighted that Katarina made the final this year. This is a tremendous achievement.    Mrs Wakelin, our Head of Learning Enhancement said, “Developing and practising memory strategies demonstrates to our girls how exercising their memory, like a muscle, makes it fit for effective learning.
