Redmaids' High Chamber Choir crowned runners up in the GSA Choir of the Year competition.

GSA choir of the year compOn Sunday, 28 April, our Chamber Choir travelled to Wimbledon High School to compete in the GSA Choir of the Year final. From hundreds of entries, they were one of only six choirs selected to perform in the final. Supported by Mrs Woodman and their families, they sang Be Thou My Vision, arranged by Dan Forrest, and You Make Me Feel So Young by Gordon and Myrow, arranged by Jay Althouse.

The well-renowned competition attracts choirs from GSA schools all over the country, and this year, the finalists were judged by adjudicators Simon Lole and former Head of Chetham's School of Music, Alun Jones. Our students sang beautifully and received glowing praise for the blend and clarity in their unison singing.

The standard of singing throughout the day was incredible, and we are thrilled that our Chamber Choir were crowned runners-up after their captivating performances.

A true highlight of the day was a collaborative performance by all choirs from the Junior and Senior sections of the competition, who sang a piece written by composer and musician Simon Lole to mark the 150th anniversary of the GSA. The sound echoing around the room was glorious; it was a special way to mark this important milestone.

Congratulations to our Chamber Choir for this incredible achievement. You sang from the heart and represented Redmaids' High School and the exceptional musical talent we are known for brilliantly.
