Rotary Young Musician Competition
We are delighted to announce that Lucy, Year 12 oboist, has been awarded second place in the finals of the Rotary Young Musician competition for the Avon area.
This is an incredible achievement as this competition attracts some of the most talented musicians in the South West region.
Lucy had chosen a challenging programme, which included music by Dorati, Bozza and David Heath, and she really rose to the occasion, performing with great poise and musicality.
This is the latest in a series of successes for Lucy, who this academic year has received the Lord Mayor’s City Waits Award, won the Bristol Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition and reached the final round of woodwind auditions for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
