National Children's Orchestra success for Elodie and Emilia
Elodie, in Year 8, has recently secured a position in the prestigious National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. This esteemed orchestra comprises three symphony ensembles, and Elodie will proudly represent the clarinet section.
Elodie has an impressive track record with this orchestra, with this being her third year of selection. She will now play in the Under 13's Orchestra, having also played with the Under 12's Orchestra previously.
As part of her engagement with the group, Elodie will have the exciting opportunity to perform alongside some of the most talented young instrumentalists from all over the country. This experience will enhance her musical abilities and allow her to collaborate with some of the nation’s most experienced tutors, conductors, and guest musicians, providing invaluable insights and mentorship - a truly wonderful opportunity.
Our Director of Music, Stephanie Harrison, said ""We are all so proud of Elodie and this wonderful achievement. Elodie is a very talented clarinetist who participates whole-heartedly in the musical life of the school, so we are delighted that her talent has achieved national recognition in this way!"
Congratulations Elodie, we hope you continue to enjoy every moment of it!
In addition to playing with the National Children's Orchestra, Elodie plays clarinet with several of our school ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Band, and Swing Band. Music is a big part of life at Redmaids' High, with many ensembles, extracurricular clubs, opportunities to participate in concerts, and music tours.
