Enjoying the creative arts

Enjoying the creative arts

Every girl in Years 3 and 4 spent two days last week preparing for their weekend performance of A World Inside a Book, a series of short performances based on the stories of Julia Donaldson.

The whole Junior School was a hive of activity as the girls helped to choreograph dance routines, and practised their songs and individual speaking parts. They were also involved in making props – including shadow puppets – to use in their performances.

At the weekend, the girls showcased their medley of stories, which included The Smartest Giant in Town, The Gruffalo, The Snail and the Whale and The Highway Rat in Redland Hall.

The event was recorded and will be shared with parents, to enjoy at their leisure, shortly.

“We fully immersed the girls in all aspects of performance this week,” explained Mr Hayward who coordinated the event.

“It was a very collaborative, creative effort, which culminated in a wonderful performance on Saturday.”
