Blue Peter badge holder!

Millie 1Millie, aged 7 and in Year 3, is now the very proud owner of a Blue Peter badge having appeared on the programme last week.

She was demonstrating her kick-boxing skills alongside two GB fit fighters at GB Fit, a martial arts and fitness centre in Bristol.

“Kick boxing is a contact fighting sport that has recently been accepted into the Olympics,” she explains, “which is why the BBC came to film it.”

Millie started kick-boxing with her older brothers, and all three of them now compete nationally with Team Bristol. They train with Sharon Gill MBE, who is a former world champion herself, and who put Millie forward for the filming.

“The day was so much fun” said Millie.

Equally fun was watching the episode at school with her friends, and telling them about all the funny bits that were filmed but didn’t make the final cut.

What was Richard Driss the CBBC presenter like?” one asked.

“Really, really, really tall” came Millie’s reply.

This episode of Blue Peter is still available to view on BBC iPlayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0010lqb
