Bringing history to life
Last week, all Year 3 and 4 girls threw themselves into a day and a half acting, singing and dancing workshop, resulting in an enchanting one-off performance of the fairytale Puss in Boots, enjoyed by friends and family.
The workshop was led by staff, under the guidance of Opera Boots, a local theatre company that seeks to promote opera in schools and is passionate about bringing this genre to as many new audiences as possible.
The girls performed brilliantly as part of a chorus of courtiers, farmers and servants, having only heard the professional singing in its entirety in the dress rehearsal. Feedback from the girls has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic and the consensus was that it would definitely be worth doing again so well done to them all!
After half term, Years 5 and 6 will be taking on a production of WWII musical Archibald’s War which we look forward to.
