Darren Jones MP pays a visit | Redmaids' High School
Our Year 4 girls were lucky enough to be involved in a project at The Lawns, which saw them working with local experts to look at ways to make the area a safe space for wildlife.
They were tasked with considering how to attract a range of minibeasts, which in turn will help to increase the population of larger animals, such as hedgehogs and badgers, as well as birds.
This unique project meant the girls could apply their understanding of what makes different organisms thrive, which they have been studying in class as part of the Year 4 science curriculum.
They also worked with Tom and his kestrel to survey and create sustainable habitats around the edges of the site.
The Lawns is our 16.7 acre site near to Cribbs Causeway, which is currently being developed to provide us with additional, first-class sports facilities.
