Top scoring team - U15 netball squad | Redmaids' High School
Following re-selection into the England Roses Academy last Autumn, Neve Marsden, Year 11, has been named as part of the 12-strong squad who will compete at the Europe Netball U17 Championships this year.
Neve has also been appointed as vice captain for the tournament, helping lead the national team as they head into the competition as reigning champions and firm favourites to retain their title.
Neve will draw from the invaluable experience she gained in 2023, playing a pivotal role in the team winning the Championships last year, coming away undefeated all tournament.
Head Paul Dwyer said, "A huge congratulations to Neve for such remarkable recognition to be selected as vice captain for the U17 England netball squad. Neve's continued growth and success on the netball court is a true testament to her dedication and tenacious sporting spirit, what a special and exciting opportunity she has earned to help lead the national team.
"We are incredibly proud of her, and we hope that she enjoys every moment of the event!"
The tournament takes place Thursday 7 - Sunday 10 March in Gibraltar, with the England side facing UAE, Wales, Scotland and either Northern Ireland or The Republic of Ireland.
Neve, from all of us at school, we wish you and the team the very best of luck for the Championships!
