Success for our Junior and Senior judo teams | Redmaids' High School
Last Wednesday 13 November, ten Year 6 girls travelled to Colston’s School to compete in the regional Under 11 A hockey tournament.
The team played with confidence and courage, with everyone taking shots on goal and four different players scoring during all matches. This resulted in impressive wins against Heywood Prep, Badminton and Colston’s at group stage.
The final was against Elmlea Juniors and what a close game it was! It finished goal-less after extra time, leading to penalty shuffles to decide the overall winner. Both teams had never practiced these before! 3 penalty shuffles finished 1-1, taking it to sudden death! Bella Cross finished her effort first, before Sophie Jarrett saved their next shot, leading to a win after a very close and tense final! Well done girls – a determined effort and excellent performance by all.
