Black history matters | Redmaids' High School
Following a strong performance in the County Tournament, our Year 6 hockey team travelled to Millfield to compete in the Regional Hockey Finals.
The team were focused and determined, and played some of their best positional hockey in the group stages, to win the group.
This put them through to the next round of the competition, where they continued their strong run, beating Hatherop Castle 2-0 in the first game, then drawing to Taunton School, and finishing with a 2-1 win against Truro.
The team finished the competition as the ‘second best team in the South West’, behind Kingswood School, who won on goal difference.
Commenting on their success, Mrs Weeks, Head of Junior School Sport said, “I hope these girls are proud of what they have achieved today.
“They have demonstrated great team spirit, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the whole competition, so really deserve this success.”
