ARSM Diploma success for Redmaids' High students | Redmaids' High School
The whole school enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of entertainment during our 2020 House Music Competition.
As the adjudicator Mrs Caroline Besterman said, "There was a very high standard of musicianship and real diversity. It was great to hear such variety of genres and instruments, but that makes my job very difficult! The reason I have picked the winners in each group is because they showed excellent performance skill but also a rapport with the music and a connection with the audience."
The winners in each category were as follows. Year 7 to 9 Composition: Eloise. Year 10 to 11 Composition: Jenny. Year 12 to 13 Composition: Emily. Year 7 to 9 Solo Performance: Yuying. Year 10 to 11 Solo Performance: Lizzie. Year 12 to 13 Solo: Lucy. Ensembles: Whitson String Quartet House
In the House Song, Speedwell received the trophy for a performance that the adjudicator described as, "Polished, committed and well organised. The part singing worked very well and the instrumental accompaniment really added to the texture. You knew the songs well, and your tone and overall volume was excellent."
Speedwell was also named as the Winning House overall for participation, so the House Captains (pictured left) were delighted to receive two stunning pieces of silverware to add to their collection.
