Father Christmas pays a visit | Redmaids' High School
On Monday afternoon, the junior school enjoyed a fantastic production of Macbeth by the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School – one of the most successful and well-respected conservatoire drama schools in the UK.
The small cast of seven, who were all in the second year of their degrees, maintained the full attention of the girls with a highly energetic, hour-long performance, that brought laughter and high emotion. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the special performance of the Shakespeare tragedy, that is adapted for school audiences.
As Rachel in Year 6 said, “Each of the actors changed roles several times during the show, and they all played each of their parts really well.” Millie who is also in Year 6 explained that the actors created music using “made-up instruments such as buckets”. Overall, it was described by staff as being a 'phenomenal' production and a real treat to see it performed here, in our very own junior school.
