International Baccalaureate Diploma art success

Iona Keeley has won an international art competition, which has resulted in her painting In Orbit being featured on the front cover of the 'International Baccalaureate (IB) World Conference Special' magazine. The issue was distributed to thousands of IB educators in the Asia-Pacific Region at the IB Global Conference in March.

The theme was “Inspiring Communities” and Iona’s outstanding painting depicts a face merged with the solar system. It was inspired by artist Sergio Albiac who uses algorithms to create portraits from circles. Iona has merged the individual with the wider idea of space, encouraging the opening of minds to new ideas and combined her interest in Physics with art.

Also featured within the magazine was work by Isla Waring and current Year 12 IB student Lauren Figes-Jones.
