She spoke to them about her recently debuted novel The Ice Whisperers.
They were gripped by the story of two sisters born forty thousand years apart.
One of whom uncovers a secret she was never meant to find: the entrance to an icy land, frozen in time where legends come to life. But this magical land is in danger, and Bela may be the only one who can save it.
To succeed, she must join forces with the impossible – a long-lost sister she never knew she had, born forty thousand years before.
The girls enjoyed hearing passages read from the book, and gained an insight into the writing process and how Helen developed her sense of place, as well as the characters and animals featured in it.
Afterwards, there was a long queue of girls collecting their signed copies. We look forward to hearing their thoughts on the book once they have read it.
Thank you to our local bookshop Max Minerva's for helping to organise the workshop.
