Entrepreneurial inspiration: ECA sessions with female business owners
Our Year 3 pupils got their first taste of a Redmaids' High Junior School 'outdoor adventure' on Sunday.
They headed into the country, and enjoyed a 30 minute woodland walk, before going underground to explore Sandford Levy; which is part cave and part mine.
In a trip led by Mendip Outdoor Pursuits, the girls' instructor Rhodri, told them all about how the mine had been used by the Home Guard.
They also looked out for cave spiders, moths and bats. Although unfortunately for Charlotte, they didn't see a bat for her to tick off in her I-Spy book - maybe next time.
"The girls just see this as an exciting day out," explained Headteacher Mrs Brown, "But we see adventuring and exploring, as a useful tool for making learning really interactive, highly engaging, and above all, fun!"
