A number of our Philosophy students were at the Bristol Museum this month to compete in a ‘Philosothon’ against thirty other students from eight local schools.

The topics for discussion involved the ethics of censorship in science, whether evolution has a direction, the possibility of miracles if Natural Laws are fixed for all time and whether we have a duty to protect endangered species.

Congratulations to Layla who won ‘Most Outstanding Year 11 Student’ and received a Philosophy book as her prize.

The Judges were Science and Philosophy Postgraduates from Bristol University and they commented on  the high standard iof discussion.
