The school was buzzing and alive with excitement last Thursday as bones were excavated, fossils created and even films directed for our Dinosaur and Fossil Day. The girls were off timetable for a fun-filled day of activities around the school and you could hear the enthusiasm from different classrooms.
The size of a dinosaur’s foot and stride length compared to our own amazed Years 4 and 5, whilst Year 3 discovered the dinosaur they were investigating could just fit on our garden Astro if it laid down diagonally. Year 4 also used a green screen to create news reports whilst Year 6 became experts in using stop motion animation. Year 2 were hard at work excavating dinosaur bones!
Art teacher Mrs. Dickson led a huge, 3 metre-tall, collaborative piece of art which every pupil in the school contributed to on the day. The result was this fantastic, multi-coloured, multi-patterned dinosaur artwork that is now up on display in the main hall. Well done girls for getting stuck into all aspects of Dinosaur Day!
