From picking up a hockey stick at just six years old, Nancy has shown dedication, resilience, and passion for the sport. Her selection is demonstration of her hard work and perseverance throughout the tough selection process.
Nancy is now preparing for some exciting challenges ahead, including matches against Canada in the Easter series and the possibility of competing in the U18 European Championships this summer. With her commitment and passion, we have no doubt she will continue to thrive at this level and beyond.
Director of Sport, Miss Claire Maggs commented 'Nancy joined Redmaids’ High Junior School and it was apparent then that she had outstanding hockey skills and was made Hockey Captain in Year 6. She has represented the Senior School brilliantly since moving up in Year 7 and my coaching team and I are thrilled that she has now been recognised at a national level. Nancy will play in our 1st XI on Thursday in an England Hockey semi-final and I am sure we will see her represent her country in the future.'
Nancy’s journey is a true inspiration to our school community. What is her advice to younger players? 'Always push yourself, overcome challenges, and never give up.'
Wise words from a talented young athlete with a bright future ahead!
Well done, Nancy!
