Celebrating fantastic results for our Year 13 students
Following last week’s wonderful A Level results, the celebrations have continued today as our Year 11 students collected their excellent GCSE results this morning.
More than half of all grades awarded (52%) were at 8 or 9, reflecting the dedication and hard work of both students and staff. An impressive 73% of grades were at 9–7, with 11 pupils securing eight or more Grade 9s. Around a quarter of the year group achieved at least five Grade 9s, and remarkably, three students were awarded straight 9s across all subjects.
Success was seen across a wide range of departments. In French and Russian, 80% of students achieved grades 8 or 9, while over 70% did so in Art and PE. English remained a particular strength, with more than 60% gaining top grades, and in Biology and Physics, over half of the cohort achieved at grades 8 or 9.
These results highlight not only the strength of academic teaching but also the expert pastoral support that enables pupils to thrive both inside and outside the classroom as they prepare to move into Sixth Form.
Anna Gaskell, Head of Year 11, praised the students’ achievements:
“This has been an exceptional year group, and we are immensely proud of all that they have accomplished. Their success is not only measured in academic achievement, but also in the way they have grown as individuals. From the very beginning, we have placed a strong emphasis on pastoral care, ensuring that every pupil has been supported, encouraged, and equipped to thrive. The resilience and determination they have shown are a credit to them, and we are confident these qualities will serve them well in the years ahead.”
The Head, Paul Dwyer added:
“I am delighted to be following up last week’s stellar results with yet more positive news for our Year 11s. These outcomes reflect excellence across the full spectrum of the curriculum, showcasing the breadth of talent and hard work among our students. There is no doubt they will go on to great things, and I very much look forward to welcoming them back in September to take advantage of all that our Sixth Form has to offer.”
